The Headliners Foundation of Texas, in partnership with the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters, has announced winners of Charles E. Green Awards for excellence in Journalism. First place division winners in certain TAPB categories had advanced to Headliners Foundation competition.

2011 Scholarship Winners

The Texas Associated Press Broadcasters group is giving $7,500 in scholarships for 2011.

TAPB on Wednesday announced that six students will share the funds, to be presented at the group's awards banquet on Saturday night, April 16, at the Dallas Marriott Quorum.

Four scholarship winners will get $1,500 each. They are Austin Wideman of Texas Tech University, Alison Morris of Texas Tech University, Josh Gorbutt of Sam Houston State University and Doug Murray, who has been accepted to the University of North Texas and to Texas Christian University.

Scholarships of $750 apiece will go to Madison Campbell of Abilene Christian University and Melanie Torre of the University of Texas at Austin. Torre is graduating in May.

TAPB Contest Critiques

Critiques are now available from the 2010-2011 Texas AP Broadcasters radio, TV & online contests.

Some judges offered extensive remarks about the 1st, 2nd and Honorable Mention winners. Others only listed the winners.
