-- Total stations entered: 48 (36 TV & 12 radio)
-- Total entries: 788 (640 TV, 148 radio)
-- Total entry fees paid: $35,320.
-- The board voted to spent flat rate $100 (plus tax) for updated 1st place plaques for Best Newscast (4 TV/2 radio). Each plaque will be 12 inches by 15 inches, solid red/rosewood. Best Newscast winners will not be announced until banquet night, Saturday, March 31.
-- Board asked Diana to survey the TAPB judges (22 total judges/17 TV & 5 radio), seeing if any/all are interested for next year. Time frame would be online judging: Feb. 9-18, 2013. Board wants a survey, with a 1-5 point system (1 is worst, 5 is best) for questions such as: quality of entries, whether the judges feel any categories are unnecessary, other contest suggestions. The board would also like each judge to recommend one more bilingual judge. Of the 640 TV entries, 165 of those entries were in Spanish. Five of the 17 TV judges are bilingual, so any category with one or more Spanish entries was handled by those bilingual judges.
