2014 TAPB Scholarship Winners

Two journalism students will share $10,000 in scholarships presented by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters.

The TAPB board decided that Dylan Nikoletopoulos of Austin will receive a $6,000 scholarship. Evan Nemec of San Antonio will get a $4,000 scholarship from the radio and television group.

Nikoletopoulos attends the University of Texas in Austin. Nemec is a student at the University of North Texas in Denton. Both are juniors.

2013 TAPB Scholarship Winners

Three students will share $17,000 in scholarships provided by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters.

The TAPB board on March 7 announced the scholarships for Belen Casillas of Tyler, Dacota Taylor of Emory and MyLeera Lewis of Beaumont.

Casillas and Taylor will each receive $7,000 scholarships. Casillas attends Tyler Junior College and plans to enroll in the fall at Stephen F. Austin State University. Taylor is enrolled at Southern Methodist University.

2012 TAPB Scholarship Winners

Two students have been chosen to share $15,000 in Texas Associated Press Broadcasters scholarships.

The winners are Brenna Arthur of Frisco and Andrew Nepsund of San Antonio.

The TAPB board, meeting at the Dallas AP office on March 3, 2012, voted to give $5,000 to Arthur, who is a freshman attending the University of North Texas in Denton. Nepsund, who's a junior at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, will receive a $10,000 scholarship.

The scholarships were presented March 31 during the 2012 TAPB awards banquet at the Headliners Club in Austin.

2011 Scholarship Winners

The Texas Associated Press Broadcasters group is giving $7,500 in scholarships for 2011.

TAPB on Wednesday announced that six students will share the funds, to be presented at the group's awards banquet on Saturday night, April 16, at the Dallas Marriott Quorum.

Four scholarship winners will get $1,500 each. They are Austin Wideman of Texas Tech University, Alison Morris of Texas Tech University, Josh Gorbutt of Sam Houston State University and Doug Murray, who has been accepted to the University of North Texas and to Texas Christian University.

Scholarships of $750 apiece will go to Madison Campbell of Abilene Christian University and Melanie Torre of the University of Texas at Austin. Torre is graduating in May.

2010 Scholarship Winners

Three students pursuing journalism careers will share $4,000 in scholarships awarded by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters
Association.

TAPB has announced scholarships for Timothy Ray Honeycutt of Texas Tech, Randall Blake Williams of the University of Texas at Tyler and
Hayley Nelson of Southern Methodist University.

Honeycutt and Williams will each receive $1,500 scholarships. The TAPB board is awarding $1,000 to Nelson.

The TAPB convention and awards banquet will be Saturday, April 24, at the Headliners Club in Austin.

2009 Scholarship Winners

Two students each received $1,500.

Naxiely Lopez attends the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg. Jacqueline Baylon attends Texas State University in San Marcos.

One student received a $1,000 TAPB scholarship, to be added to $3,000 in Headliners Foundation of Texas scholarship funds. Xorje Andres Olivares attends the University of Texas at Austin.
